A Market at the Heart of Village Life

On the first Thursday of every month (except January), between 10.00 and 12.00, St Peter's Church is transformed into a bustling Farmers' Market and Community Café, bringing together local producers, residents and visitors from across the area.

Established in 2012, the market was created to bring the church and local community together while supporting local producers and businesses. More than a decade later it continues to do exactly that. Income generated through the market helps support the work and upkeep of St Peter's Church while providing a valuable service to the local community. There is extensive parking in the village.

The market has become a valued part of village life, attracting regular visitors from Grandborough and neighbouring villages. Whether you are shopping for local produce, meeting friends for coffee, or simply enjoying the atmosphere, everyone is welcome.

Local Produce, Local People

Our market brings together a range of local stallholders offering high-quality produce, much of it home-grown, locally-reared, handmade or freshly baked.

Depending on the season, visitors can find:

  • Artisan breads and cakes
  • Homemade jams and chutneys
  • Locally produced cheeses
  • Beef, lamb and pork from local farms
  • Fresh seasonal produce
  • Handmade gifts and speciality items

We are proud to support local producers and encourage visitors to shop locally wherever possible.

The Community Café

At the heart of the market is our popular Community Café. Many visitors come as much for the conversation as for the shopping. The café provides a warm and welcoming space where people can meet friends, make new connections and enjoy the friendly atmosphere for which the market has become known.

Freshly made refreshments are available, including:

  • Tea and coffee
  • Homemade cakes
  • Cheese scones
  • Seasonal treats

In a rural community where opportunities for regular social contact can be limited, the Community Café provides a valued place for conversation, friendship and connection. For many visitors it has become a regular monthly social gathering as well as a shopping trip.
