Get Involved
Get Involved: Be part of St Peter’s
St Peter’s is cared for by people from across the village, and there are lots of simple ways to get involved.
You don’t need to be a regular churchgoer. Whether you can help occasionally or would like to join one of our rotas, it’s a practical way to support an important part of Grandborough — and a great way to meet neighbours and get to know more people locally.
Ways you can help

Flowers
Join our flower rota and help keep the church looking welcoming throughout the year. You don’t need to be an expert flower arranger — enthusiasm is more important than experience.

Church cleaning
Our cleaning rota helps keep St Peter’s ready for services, visitors and community events. You would normally be asked to clean the church no more than twice a year, so it’s an easy way to make a real difference without a big time commitment. No special experience is needed.

Churchyard clear-up days
Twice a year we get together for a practical session clearing and tidying the churchyard. Come for as much or as little of the session as you can. It’s sociable, useful and usually much more enjoyable with a group of people doing it together.

Help at events
From the Farmers’ Market and community café to special services and other events, there are occasional opportunities to lend a hand with setting up, welcoming people, refreshments and clearing away.

Help care for our heritage
St Peter’s is a Grade II* listed church and caring for a building with centuries of history is an ongoing task. From time to time we run projects to help conserve and repair the church and its historic features. There are lots of ways to help — from supporting an event, identifying and working with contractors or helping with a fundraising appeal or contributing ideas.
You don’t need fundraising experience or to be a regular churchgoer. If you have a little time, a useful skill or simply an idea you think might help, we’d love to hear from you.
No big commitment required.
Getting involved doesn’t mean signing up for everything. Some people help regularly; others might join us once or twice a year. Whatever time you can give is welcome.
