Our Regular Services

Cross on the altar inside St Peter’s Church

Celtic Communion

This is our principal service of Holy Communion and combines traditional worship with a reflective Celtic style. The service includes prayers, Bible readings, a short sermon, and the sharing of bread and wine.

The atmosphere is peaceful, prayerful and welcoming.

Usually held on the first Sunday of the month.

Next Service:

Fresh croissants at Grandborough Farmers’ Market

Breakfast Service

Our Breakfast Service is one of the most popular gatherings at St Peter's.

This informal service lasts around 50 minutes and is often led by members of the parish community. A shared breakfast forms part of the service, creating a relaxed opportunity for worship, conversation and fellowship.

Usually held on the third Sunday of the month.

Special Services

Throughout the year, we come together to mark the seasons of the Christian faith and important moments in the life of our community. From the joy of Easter and Christmas to the thankfulness of Harvest and the reflection of Remembrance Sunday, these services offer a special opportunity for worship, fellowship and welcome. Our Remembering Service is an opportunity for parishioners to reflect on those they have loved who they have lost.

We also gather for Benefice services, joining with our neighbouring churches to worship together as one wider church family.

Details on each of these services are published in the news section as they become available.

St Peter's is part of the Draycote & Leam Valley Benefice. Additional services take place across the benefice throughout the year and everyone is welcome to attend. For more details of current services across the Benefice see www.draycoteandleamvalleybenefice.com

Weddings

St Peter's Church provides a beautiful and historic setting for a church wedding.

Many people are eligible to marry at St Peter's through residence, family connections or other qualifying links to the parish. We are always happy to discuss individual circumstances.

A church wedding combines a meaningful Christian service with the opportunity to make lifelong vows before God, family and friends in a setting that has witnessed generations of marriages.

If you are considering getting married at St Peter's, we would be delighted to hear from you.

Funerals & Memorial Services

The death of someone we love is one of life’s most painful experiences. At St Peter’s Church, we are here to offer prayer, comfort and support, and to share the Christian hope of God’s love and the promise of resurrection.

A funeral may take place in church, at a crematorium, at the graveside, or across a combination of these settings. We can also help arrange services of thanksgiving and remembrance.

We will work with you to create a service that gives thanks for your loved one’s life, commends them into God’s care, and provides a meaningful opportunity for family and friends to grieve and remember. Our support is available to everyone, whether or not you regularly attend church.
