The Pulpit and Reading Desk

Leaving the chancel, note the pulpit and reading desk.
The present examples were first used in 1846 as part of the Victorian reordering of the church. They replaced an earlier pulpit dating from around 1790, which was later transferred to St Peter's Church, Wolfhampcote, where it remains today.
Together they reflect changing styles of worship and church furnishing during the nineteenth century.
