The Tower

At the west end stands the church's impressive tower and spire.
Rising to more than 130 feet, the tower is visible for miles across the surrounding countryside and has served as a landmark for travellers and villagers for centuries. Architectural evidence suggests that it was built during the major rebuilding campaign that followed the Black Death in the fourteenth century.
The tower houses the bells and clock which regulated village life for generations.
